Microsoft Stores to sell Dell Venue 8 Pro for $99 on Monday

 Blog, New Hardware, Tips

Small Windows 8 tablets are still pretty rare devices, which is a bit of a shame, given than that the ‘touch-first’ UI is pretty much perfect for screen sizes around 7- or 8-inches. The first such tablet was the Acer Iconia W3, a device that was better in concept than execution, blighted by a truly terrible screen.

Thankfully, with the launch of Windows 8.1, which introduced various optimizations for smaller displays, manufacturers are starting to rise to the challenge with a new wave of smaller Windows tablets. One such device, Dell’s Venue 8 Pro, has been on sale for a few weeks now. If you’ve been considering it for yourself, or perhaps as a Christmas gift, an upcoming deal may just be all the incentive you need to take the plunge.

Dell Venue Deal $99

This Monday, December 9, Microsoft Stores will be offering the Windows 8.1 device for just $99. That’s an incredible $200 lower than the tablet’s usual retail price of $299.

However, stocks will be extremely limited for those wanting to grab a Venue 8 Pro at that price. Each Microsoft Store will be selling just 20 of the devices at $99 (Microsoft says that this offer will be “available in select Microsoft retail and online stores in US (including Puerto Rico)… [and] in select Microsoft retail stores in Canada”).

10 more of the tablets will also be available at each store for $199 (“available in select Microsoft retail and online stores in US (including Puerto Rico) and Canada”).

The promotion is part of Microsoft’s “12 Days of Deals”, which will see plenty more special offers in the lead-up to Christmas.
